daughters, swings & old comforters

I was looking on the computer and saw this really cute picture of my daughter, Shelby. A friend had taken it of her while they were at the park. I thought it was so sweet and of course, just had to do a layout of it.
I used a lot of Daisy D's on this one and cut the paper into squares and sewed around the edges, kind of like a quilt. I have been using my sewing machine to scrapbook a lot lately, but am thinking it is time to use it to really sew something! Maybe a real quilt for me with some delicious patterns. I have been sleeping with the same comforter for over 21 years now - love it and cannot give it up! I make my bed with a different one and have changed that often when redecorating, but the one I love on me when I am sleeping is my "old green comforter". My mom gave it to me for one of my bridal showers and it's so worn and loved now. Maybe, if I made one out of real good material, after washing it many times, I would love it. If not, I'd have one for when I am laying on the sofa reading or watching TV, or for guests.
Last night, my sister Suzie and the kids came over and we all just hung out and ate pizza. Danielle stopped by to give Chelsey some great pool toys and picked up the last of the pumpkin muffins. I need to make them some more and also, some Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies that Sharron just gave me the recipe for. The weather is suppose to be cooler this weekend, so maybe it will feel more like fall.
What are your plans for the weekend? Hope it's just what you want it to be!
